In a galaxy far, far away...

After the success of the Harry Potter Kit, Disney approached us to perform a similar treatment through the Star Wars universe. We created a buildable puck shaped device that enables users to ‘control’ The Force.

The kit is powered by a cross array of 4 motion sensors, that can detect swipes, pushes and lifts. Once built, the product is paired up to an app where you learn the basics of programming through a series of fun challenges based in the Star Wars universe.





Squaring the circle

The form of the device went through a huge amount of iteration. We explored multiple square shaped devices before eventually settling on the final circular design.

A challenge we faced was making a device that sits on both the ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ side of the force. We felt the square shaped versions sat too much on the ‘Dark’ side, so we pursued the softer circular features, producing the device in black and white to accomodate both sides of the force.
